Nadja Weiss is a director and actor. After completing her acting training at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts (1991–1994), she joined the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten), where she was part of the permanent ensemble for many years.
There, she appeared in numerous productions as an actor, including Yvonne in The Princess of Burgundy, in which she played the title role, directed by Ingmar Bergman. Other stage work includes the monologue 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane, Emma in Details by Lars Norén, Erna in Kasimir and Karoline directed by Michael Thalheimer, and Maria in The Revelation by Mattias Andersson.
In television and film, her work includes Beck, Tic Tac (directed by Daniel Alfredson), After the Rehearsal by Ingmar Bergman, Van Veeteren – Case G, Grötbögen by Stig Larsson, The Condemned, and Beck.
In 2009, Nadja made her debut as a director with Sarah Kane’s Crave at Dramaten. Since then, she has directed a wide range of productions and performances at theatres such as Volksbühne in Berlin, Stockholm City Theatre Stadsteatern, the Royal Dramatic Theatre, and Orionteatern. Her most recent direction is Love in Swedish (Kärlek på svenska) at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. In addition to directing and acting, Nadja Weiss runs a performing arts residency in Österlen.
